painting.

i'm painting again. or I guess something in-between painting and drawing. i'm taking a winter intensive. it's called "living and breathing painting." kinda funny. anyway my teacher told me that i needed to have two projects going. so...along with the super tedious sewing and gluing and cutting and molding of small objects, i'm trying to start painting again. at first, i was stubborn and refused. Now, I'm really happy about it. the first paintings just sorta worked. there was a certain excitement i think in using materials that i remember but haven't touched for a while... and now, i'm feeling the struggle.

I have a show from June 08-14, 2008. It will be in the Diego Rivera Gallery at the San Francisco Art Institute. If you live in the Bay Area or if you love me a lot and want to visit San Francisco, come to the opening! I will be showing with Mario Trejo and Adam Hathaway. I don't know who they are, YET. I'm going to try to bring my sculpture and installation work to more of a conclusion. I want to add light projections combined with subtle movement and sound. This will be a lot of new territory for me, which is exciting, but also daunting. More information soon!
